It's taken me three years to write another blog.
I don't quite understand the need for blogging. Although I must do, as when I read other blogs, I'm usually inspired and find them relatable. That's it! There is more that bind us girls than divides us.
Whatever our background, there is a worrier woman lurking inside. We often don't acknowledge her, until the chips are really stacked against us and then she busts out..
This is the reason I design handbags. 1. It's my therapy and my warrior women had to bust out.. 2. I love the quality of life, joy, power and optimism I have when I consider what to wear.
Style is my life long obsession. I've been that way since I was 7. I'm not obsessed with labels and latest trends, even though they do give me pleasure. My love is classic pieces, good fit, quality and some edgy unpredictability thrown into the mix.
With handbags you don't have to speak. They do the talking. My love, is designing beautiful armour for women, as they aspire and inspire their way through the world.
I'm excited to still be doing what I love for nearly 20 years. There has been many failures and one thing I've learnt is the beauty comes from the falls. I am not my business, but I am more inspired and confident than I've been in ages and feeling really creative around my work.
I will write about this in my next blog, hopefully not in 3 years time.
I'm gonna post a couple of bags I've designed and made, that really make me smile right now. ....and check out a 60 year old me. I love me. Sorry if that sounds radical.
Such a pleasure crafting beautiful understated bags
that expresses a woman's style quietly yet boldly
Nina Bags in purple suede and multi- coloured printed leather shown in this picture were inspired by the legendary Nina Simone. One of the many women who came before us, to give us our voice.
